We met at a party,
of a mutual friend.
Sparks were flying,
from the holiday's trend.
Flirting came easy,
then I thought, "should i dare?"...
I doubted you'd mind,
If I braided your hair.
As a matter of
fact,
I think I was right;
that may have been,
my best idea of the night.
Talking and laughing,
consuming libations;
just a good time,
with no expectations.
Then voices around
me,
but I heard not a sound;
soon fixed on your eyes,
as if no one was around.
A kiss interrupted,
but sweet just the same,
stopped by the laughter,
from hearing our names.
We soon disappeared,
into the night;
I think it was fireworks,
that made the sky bright.
But In the holiday's
honor,
down by the lake;
more sparks were flying,
there was no mistake!
